Dinner at Epcot’s Teppan Edo

In August, I was fortunate to be in Walt Disney World for my birthday for the first time ever!  I got to wear my birthday button and I enjoyed all the birthday wishes from cast members and guests.  My parents and I spent my birthday in EPCOT and they gave me the option to pick any restaurant I wanted in EPCOT for my birthday dinner.  After contemplating the many wonderful choices, I decided on one of my favorites, Teppan Edo.

Teppan Edo is located in World Showcase at the Japan Pavilion.  Here you will experience authentic Japanese cuisine during an exciting dining experience that is part a Hibachi style meal and part show.  Here you sit around Hibachi grills where your skillful chef chops and stir-fries your food right there in front of you.  Every seat has a perfect view of the show.  I enjoyed the show that the chefs put on while making your delicious food.  This experience it great for the whole family.  It will even keep your children entertained and excited to eat their meal.

You can select from steak, chicken, seafood and vegetable entrees.  These entrees are served with udon noodles, stir fried vegetables and steamed rice.  Prior to the meal, you also are served a fresh garden salad with Asian dressing.  For my birthday meal I choose the scallops, my mom had the shrimp and my dad had the filet mignon.   All were prepared and served right in front of us and they were all delicious.

At the end of the dinner, the servers presented me with a surprise piece of birthday cake and a birthday song.  The cake was their green tea cake, which is layers of delicate green tea sponge cake with a fluffy green tea mousse topped with a fresh whipped cream.  All I can say is yummy!  I highly recommend Teppan Edo and look forward to returning again soon.  You can check out my video below for highlights of this birthday dinner.
