I hope everyone had a wonderful and happy Halloween! I know I certainly enjoyed this Halloween season. From attending Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney World to carving Disney inspired pumpkins at home (something that has become an annual tradition) this Halloween season was certainly filled with a lot of treats! But now that Halloween is behind I am more excited than ever because it’s Christmas time! I completely understand that to some people saying the day after Halloween is the start of the Christmas season may sound crazy but for me I’m ready to kick off the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is my absolute favorite Holiday so the more time I get to enjoy my Christmas music and decorated themed Christmas trees the better!
I am not the only one out there with this philosophy! The Disney Parks also considers November 1st to be the start of their Christmas season! Whenever Disney decorates for the holidays they always work at night. This way guests never see the unfinished product. Something I love about Disney is their effort to always keep that magic and have everything be perfect for us guests! Halloween Night after the final Mickey’s Not SO Scary Halloween Party ends Disney cast members are hard at work removing all of the fall decorations and even begin the process of putting up Christmas decorations!
I have witnessed this exciting transformation first hand! A few years ago, my family and I were vacationing at Walt Disney World during Halloween week. October 31st Halloween was in full swing with colorful fall decorations in the parks and Mickey Mouse shaped jack-o-lanterns lining Main Street USA! The next morning on November 1st, I will never forget the experience of walking into Hollywood Studios and seeing those beautiful mini Christmas trees atop every light post and tinsel stars lining sunset boulevard! We were in awe of how quickly Disney can make this transformation from Halloween to Christmas!
I love that Disney does begin their Christmas season so early because it gives more guests a chance to enjoy all of the wonderful holiday offerings the parks have to offer along with taking in the sights of the gorgeous Christmas decorations. Just last year my family and I visited the parks during the first week of November and it was the perfect way to kick off the Holiday season! As soon as we returned home we began decorating for the holidays ourselves! This is the perfect time of year to visit the Disney parks! Even in early November you can expect to see Christmas decorations throughout the parks!
The Walt Disney World Resort goes all out for the Holiday season! In Magic Kingdom you can attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! A specially ticketed event on select nights including, special treats, rare character meet and greets, holiday entertainment offerings, a special Christmas parade and fireworks, and so much more! Over in Epcot you can looking forward to the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays, during this festival you can sample food from special holiday kitchens and learn more about holiday customs from around the world! At Night enjoy a Disney Christmas staple, the Candlelight Processional. The beautiful presentation takes place in the American Garden Theater in World Showcase, a live choir and orchestra perform Christmas carols while a celebrity guest narrator tells the story of the Nativity. This show is a can’t-miss experience and will take your breath away! It is the true meaning of Christmas and something I look forward to every year! Additionally Epcot’s nighttime show IllumiNations Reflections of Earth has a special Holiday ending! A perfect way to end your holiday-filled day! Over at Hollywood Studios tinsel town has never looked brighter… literally! Tinsel stars line the streets and every corner of the park is covered in decorations themed to old Hollywood glamour! At night you can enjoy Sunset Seasons Greetings. During this presentation the Hollywood Tower is transformed using projection mapping technology into multiple holiday scenes including a gingerbread house and a Toy Factory! It even snows on Sunset Boulevard! Also at Hollywood Studios you can catch Jingle Bell Jingle Bam! This firework and projection nighttime spectacular is sure to put you in the Christmas spirit! Additionally, at Studios, now that Toy Story Land is opened this will be the first time this new land will get transformed for Christmas! Disney has already announced that they have many exciting things up their sleeves for Toy Story Land decorations. Over at Animal Kingdom you can marvel at the parks massive icon tree. Each Disney World park has their own icon tree with ornaments representing that particular park! All of the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels also get adorned with beautiful Christmas decorations!
