Best Spots to Watch the Magic Kingdom Fireworks! Walt Disney World

There is nothing quite like Disney fireworks! They are truly magical and the perfect capstone on an amazing day spent in the parks! For many Disney park goers watching the fireworks is a vacation tradition that they must do every visit. I know this to be true for me and my family! Over the years we have tried out many different spots and viewing locations to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks. We love finding different viewpoints and perspectives to see the show! Today I wanted to share with you some of our favorite spots so you can try them out on your next visit!

The Hub

For the classic experience you hands down have to watch the fireworks from the hub! This is the area right in front of the castle at the end of Main Street USA. Especially if it is your first time then I highly recommend staking out a spot in the hub to get a straight on view of the castle. Now with the new Magic Kingdom fireworks show, Happily Ever After, that premiered last year, the new show has many projections that take place on the front of the castle. So having a direct castle view will give you the full experience!

Behind the Castle

Maybe you have seen the fireworks several times in the past and your looking for a more unique vantage point. Well if this is the case, I highly recommend watching the fireworks from behind the castle back in Fantasyland! You can’t see many projections this way but the main draw is that because there are fireworks that go off from the castle and also fireworks that go off behind Magic Kingdom, stand in Fantasyland you will get 360 degrees of fireworks happening both in front of you and behind you! It is a really cool view. Also this area is never as popular so it is more of a private viewing experience!

California Grill

Want to watch the fireworks with a birds-eye view? Then plan to make a reservation at the California Grill at Disney Contemporary Resort located right next door to the Magic Kingdom Park. Not only will you enjoy an incredible meal but from the restaurant’s rooftop observation decks you can actually watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks. Seeing them from the sky is absolutely breathtaking! The restaurant even pumps in the music giving you the full experience. Pro tip: No matter what time your reservation was at California Grill you can keep your receipt with you from that day and use it to return back to the restaurant when it’s time for the fireworks!

Grand Floridian or Polynesian Beaches

The beaches of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort are great spots to take in the Magic Kingdom fireworks from across the seven seas Lagoon. Grab a drink or a dole whip from the Polynesian, sit back, and enjoy!

Fireworks Boat Cruise

This is an experience I have done with my family a few times! You can rent a pontoon boat and have your captain take you and your party on a private tour of Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon before dropping anchor right in front of Magic Kingdom to watch the show! Snacks and soft drinks are provided during the experience and they even pipe the fireworks music into the boat! This is a really great experience if you are celebrating something special, a birthday, an anniversary, an engagement! It makes for a very special memory!
