Disney has announced that Cove Bar at Disney’s California Adventure park will be transformed into Lamplight Lounge! The new Lamplight lounge is taking the place of the fan-favorite, Cove Bar. Cove Bar has recently been closed to make way for the bar’s re-theming to Lamplight Lounge. This transformation goes along with the process of Disney reimagining Paradise Pier into a new land, Pixar Pier! Lamplight Lounge will feature many nods and touches to Pixar and the creativity behind the Pixar storylines!
If Cove Bar fans want the opportunity to experience the Cove Bar once more they will soon be able to do just that! Cove Bar will reopen for a limited time beginning March 16th, and will close again at the end of May for the bars permanent transition into Lamplight Lounge.
But we have good news for Cove Bar fans. The Lamplight Lounge will continue to serve many of the popular items that made Cove Bar famous! One of these loved dishes that will be brought to the new Lamplight Lounge will be the Lobster Nachos!
Once the new Lounge opens, those famous Lobster Nachos will be accompanied by many more California gastro-pub menu items, as well as a wide selection of signature cocktails unique to the lounge. The Lamplight Lounge will of course feature those beautiful waterfront views from both upstairs and downstairs. As well as outdoor seating that will offer awesome views of the new Pixar Pier. The location is also the perfect spot to view the World of Color spectacular!
We know that the Lamplight Lounge will be themed as if it has been renovated from an old warehouse factory. We also know that the location will retain many of its original features from Cove Bar. Theming elements to Lamplight Lounge will include steel structures and exposed concrete and brick walls, with the original factory floor boards refinished as ceiling panels and floors.
The space will reflect the creativity, inspirations and personalities of the artists and storytellers who have brought the Pixar movies we love to life. Throughout the Lounge be sure to look for artistic marks left by the Pixar artists, such as concept art, sketched-upon napkins, collectable toys of Pixar characters, and more!
Lamplight Lounge will open on June 23rd along with the rest of Pixar Pier! The location of this bar has always been a great hidden gem and we are very excited to see what the reimagined theming will be like and can’t wait to see all of the tie-ins to Pixar!
