What Inspired Walt Disney to Build Disneyland?

This month is the 60th anniversary of Disneyland, the world’s first theme park, but do you ever stop to wonder about what inspired it to exist? How did someone come up with something so magical, and how did they put a plan together to make it happen? Well, the wonderful Walt Disney had a dream, and he also had a plan.

Walt Disney studied what already existed and used it as a foundation to tweak for his own purposes and ideas. He had dreams of innovations that had never been done before, and although he had multiple failures, he still continued to pursue them, which led us to have the Disney parks we know and love!

Walt Disney spent almost two decades observing other entertainment venues and picking and choosing what he liked, as well as noting things he didn’t. At the time, many people wondered why he wanted to get involved with something so “cheap and dirty as an amusement park”, but we can clearly see he had other visions!
