Disney’s Crowd Report for July

If you’re thinking of doing a trip to Disney this summer, here are the projected crowd reports for July, the busiest month of the year. It doesn’t have the extreme crowds you see in late December and the peak wait times aren’t as high as Easter or Spring Break, but the overall 31 days of July have the largest crowds that they see for any one month of the year. Touringplans.com has a Disney World Crowd Calendar which shows no July day less than a 6 out of 10 on its scale of crowdedness.

Part of the reason why July draws such large crowds is because school is out, so kids are able to go on vacation, and what better place to go than to Disney? The golden rules for theme park touring still hold true in July though – get there early, have a plan, take an afternoon break to avoid the hottest and most crowded part of the day, then return refreshed in the evening. Also remember that the parks are open earlier and close later in July than in any other month.

Also don’t forget that July 4th draws a large crowd, and that the Magic Kingdom (and sometimes Epcot) will close due to capacity. So if you want to experience the fireworks celebration, be sure to arrive early and plan on staying there all day. If you want to try to avoid the possibility of reaching capacity, the same show is offered on July 3rd and usually a little less likely to reach capacity.
