If you’re looking for a fun character meal while you’re visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom, be sure to check out Tusker House! It’s one of the favorites and often thought of as “off the radar” for some people, but its delicious food and incredible theming rivals many of the more “popular” character meals. Tucker house is located in the Africa section at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and really is sort of tucked out of the way.
You’ll see the check-in area outside and also a nice waiting area for the restaurant. The theme of Tusker House is amazing. Guests are seating in areas that are themes as a safari company, complete with signs for safari drivers and their assignments, tour departure signs, and more! The buffet area is designed to look like an open air market, with incredible details like the food carts which have been designed to appear as though they were made from random items by the “villagers”.
It also isn’t your typical buffet that requires you to pass along in a single moving line. The characters and cast members at Tusker House will remind guests that they are free to wander to each station, and that you don’t have to stay in one spot in line. You wont’ just see safari characters either, Mickey, Goofy, and Donald Duck all make appearances in their safari gear!
