A trip to Disney World is high on the list of wants. This is true for adults as well as kids. This is a magical, mystical vacation spot that over 45 million people visit each year. How do you visit this sought-after vacation destination on a budget?

Tips for Savings

An estimated 13 million bottles of water are consumed every year at Disney World. This does not include soft drinks. Consider that a bottle of water costs approximately $5. Make a trip to your favorite retailer and purchase a water bottle with a Disney theme for a couple of dollars and fill it with ice before entering the theme park. Then you can refill it for free as needed throughout the day. This can result in a savings of $40 or more for a family of four and that is a conservative estimate.

The perks you can receive for using credit cards for specific purchases (particularly when used as a debit card) can be used for a variety of things. One example is the points accumulated. Depending on the card used, points can be exchanged for lodging at hotels near the resort.

In addition, AAA provides a variety of discounts to members. They can include food, resort stays, tickets to resorts and theme parks and more. Not only do you have the benefit of road service in the event you need it, but the discounts can come in handy.

If you have small children, you already know they will plead endlessly for the trinkets sold at theme parks and other events. There are many of these items that can be purchased at discount stores for only $1 versus the $10 theme parks charge. Pack some and carry them with you to give to the children when they start pleading with you for the novelty items.

Rather than purchasing the expensive food sold at Disney World, pack a cooler with food and rent one of the lockers at the entrance to stow it in until you are ready to eat. This could result in huge savings even for adults. A dinner can cost from $30 to more than $60 per person.
