Kalo, also known as taro, holds cultural importance for the Hawaiian people. It not only feeds the people of Hawai‘i, but provides a family connection between the people and the ‘āina (or land). At Aulani, guests can learn more about taro and even sample it in some of Aulani’s dishes like the ‘Ōlelo Room’s kālua pork nachos featuring taro chips.
