The Walt Disney Company is one of the largest media and entertainment companies in the world including theme parks, movie studios, and television broadcasting.

Under the Disney umbrella are eleven theme parks scattered around the world. The most popular vacation destination in the world is one of these parks; Walt Disney World located in Orlando Florida. The second best know theme park isDisneyland located in California. This was the first of the Disney Theme parks and the original dream of Walt Disney.

Disney’s other assets include among other things many television channels including such stalwarts as ABC, Disney Channel, and ESPN to name just a few.

One of Disney’s most popular assets is the Disney Cruise Lines with two new ships under construction that will join the Disney fleet in 2010 and 2011. The cruise line offers cruises of four and seven days to the Western and Eastern Caribbean with fun for all ages from toddlers to seniors.

Disney’s World of Disney is their retail arm with stores throughout the United States. These stores sell clothing, along with audio and video products.

Disney’s Walt Disney world is the most popular vacation destination in the world with over thirty thousand resort rooms on the Disney property. Designed by the Disney Imagineers with input from the late Walt Disney, Walt Disney World incorporates some of the futuristic ideas of Walt Disney. These include the monorail which whisks visitors from theme parks to resorts in quiet air conditioned comfort. Disney offers four theme parks one of which is Epcot which Walt envisioned as the prototype community of the future. Two water parks along with six championship golf courses are on the Disney property for guest enjoyment. Most families choose to stay seven days to take advantage of all of the attractions. All ages from toddlers to seniors have plenty to do and enjoy in Walt Disney World.

Disney’s Disneyland California is another popular tourist destination since it was opened in 1955. Some of the attractions in Disneyland include Main Street U.S.A., Tomorowland, Fantasyland, Frontierland, Adventureland, New Orleans Square, Critter Country, Mickey’s Toontown. Disneyland offers many onsite hotel rooms including the Grand Californian that opens to Main Street USA.
