‘The Legend of Conch Flats’ Among Special Tours Engaging Members

Members are learning more about the places they call “home” through a variety of special tours at Disney Resorts, including “The Legend of Conch Flats” tour of Disney’s Old Key West Resort.

This complimentary, 45-60-minute walking tour for Members and guests of all ages explores resort’s Hospitality House, revealing how Walt Disney Imagineers blended historical fact and charming fiction to create this tropical oasis. The tour departs Papa’s Den (adjacent to the lobby) on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10 a.m. No advance registration necessary. Participants receive an exclusive pin (pictured above) celebrating Conch Flats, the imagined setting of the resort that put Disney Vacation Club on the map.

Other resort tours at Walt Disney World Resort range from special safaris at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge to an art-and-architecture tour of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.

The Starlight Safari experience at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is reminiscent of a nighttime drive through an African game reserve, leading Members and guests on an open-sided safari vehicle through the resort’s wildlife-filled savannas. The hour-long expedition departs daily at 10 p.m. as is priced at $74.17 a person plus tax.

Also available at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is the Sense of Africa experience, a three-and-a-half-hour tour and breakfast that begins with an exploration of the resort’s cultural inspirations, continues with a special breakfast at Boma – Flavors of Africa and culminates with private savanna and backstage tour. Priced at $249 a person plus tax, the Sense of Africa experience begins on Tuesdays and Saturdays at 7 a.m.

The “Wonders of the Lodge” art-and-architecture tour of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is a complimentary, hour-long experience that highlights the creative details and classic craftsmanship of this majestic resort. Tours begin at 9 a.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays, and no advance registration is necessary.

At Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, the “Floridian Express” experience is an hour-long walking tour that examines the resort’s inspirations and takes a behind-the-scenes look at its AAA Five Diamond restaurant, Victoria & Albert’s. Available at 9 a.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, the “Floridian Express” tour is priced at $15 a person plus tax.
