October is all about seasonal celebrations in the restaurants, shops and entertainment venues of the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort. Whether your taste runs to harvest, Halloween or “hoisting” a beverage for the occasion, the Downtown Disney District offers something for every age and every member of the family.
Pumpkin is one of the predominant tastes of the season, and there is plenty to taste at locations throughout the Downtown Disney District: a pumpkin churro from the California Churro cart, a pumpkin macaroon from Kayla’s Cakes, Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks and a pumpkin smoothie made with almond milk, pumpkin, bananas and a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg at Jamba Juice.
Halloween celebrants can enjoy an evening of “Scary-Oke,” including costume and karaoke contests, at Crossroads at House of Blues on Saturday, Oct. 31. LittleMissMatched is offering a Buy 3 Get One Free deal on limited-edition Halloween-themed socks.
And if, inspired by Haunted Mansion Holiday, you’d like to construct your own haunted gingerbread house, Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen will offer a Haunted Gingerbread House Building Workshop from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24. A Gingerbread Kit and two seats at the work table are available for $48; additional seats would be $12 apiece.
Meanwhile, October brings with it the opportunity to show your Bavarian side with the celebration of Oktoberfest. Uva Bar is currently offering an Oktoberfest-inspired menu through October 31. Crossroads at House of Blues will have a special Oktoberfest Celebration this Saturday, Oct. 10, featuring specialty menu items, a stein-hoisting competition and a pretzel eating contest. Meanwhile, a special Oktoberfest menu at House of Blues features grilled bratwurst, schnitzel, apple strudel and giant Bavarian pretzels.
It’s a full month of October events at the Downtown Disney District. Choose your celebration!
