Carnival Dream Arrives in New Orleans

Carnival’s newest cruise ship to call New Orleans home arrived in town this week, as the Carnival Dream will call the Port of New Orleans home starting last Monday, and will provide year-round cruises to the Caribbean from New Orleans.

According to Carnival, it’s the city’s largest cruise ship, carrying 3,646 passengers, and the company now expects to transport more than 400,000 passengers out of New Orleans.

Carnival Dream is one massive ship, 1004-feet-long and 130,000 tons of pure fun for families, as it embarks to its destination in the Caribbean.

It’s being called the largest cruise vessel to dock in New Orleans and for the first time, can carry more than 3600 passengers.

Ocean Plaza

Some of the key features of the Carnival Dream include a cafe and entertainment venue called Ocean Plaza, which will be an outdoor indoor venue complete with live music and entertainment.

There are various full service bars, plenty of great food and too many amenities to count.

19,000 square-feet has been solely dedicated to children’s facilities, and there is also a massive water park on the top floor with breathtaking views of the sea, and a 303-foot-long water slide.

This ship has everything you could ask for when you look for a cruise.

Carnival Dream makes its debut Monday, then starting Sunday a 7-day Caribbean cruise, with 3 different itineraries, will be offered out of the Port of New Orleans, year-round.

The crew aboard Carnival Dream is trying to make that dream come true by offering some of the best a cruise line can offer.

Dream is expected to bring in millions of dollars of business to the New Orleans, area and will be joined by Carnival Elation later in the year.
