Sightseeing with Sarah- Disney cruise Line

Have you ever been on a cruise? Have you ever been on a Disney cruise? Well I was on a three day weekend cruise with my family and some of their friends. Some fun facts about the Disney ships: There are two of them, the Wonder and the Magic. The length of the two ships is 964 feet and the width is 106 feet. The weight of the anchor is a whopping 14 tons! There are 945 crew members. And finally, the stern of the Magic has goofy painting, while Donald Duck and his nephew Huey are painting the stern of the Wonder. The two cruises go from three all the way to fourteen nights for next years European Itineraries.

Depending on how many nights your Disney cruise is, you go to different islands. Those islands are Castaway Cay (which is an island that is owned by Disney), Nassau, St. Maarten, St. Thomas/St. John, Key West, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel. The cruise I went on was the Wonder. We went to Castaway Cay and Nassau. My favorite island we went to was definitely Castaway Cay. They had great beaches to swim in, good food, and plenty of ice cream!!

On board, there are so many activities to do. There are two different kids clubs. One is the Oceaneer Club which is for ages 3-7, and the Oceaneer Lab, which is for ages 8-12. There is also a teen club for ages 13-17. There they have movies, music, video games, internet access, a bar with virgin daiquiris and sodas, plasma screen TV’s, and a lounge area with magazines. On deck, they also have three pools. The Mickey pool, which is for kids and has a curvy slide, they also have the Goofy pool which is known as the family pool. One neat thing about this pool is that they can pull out the deck and cover it up so when they have parties, there is more dancing room! Finally, they have the Quiet Cove Pool which is and adult only pool.

On board they have two different theaters. One is for musicals they have. My favorite performance was Hercules the Muse-ical. It was so hilarious! That is the Walt Disney Theater. They also have the Buena Vista Theater which is the typical movie theater. When I was there, they were showing the following movies, Cars, Pirates of the Caribbean 2, and Invincible. And for one day only, they had The Guardian playing. It was such a great movie, but it was very sad.

For the adults, they have an adult only restaurant, Palo. My mom and dad ate there and they said they have excellent food. They also have a bar called Cadillac Lounge. They have a pianist that does sing-alongs. They have another bar like it that is called Sessions. Another place for adults is the Vista Spa and Salon. Here, you can get your teeth whitened, a manicure and pedicure, facial, hair cut, and many other spa amenities. At the spa, they also have four different packages for thirteen and seventeen year olds. I got the “Princess Hands and Feet”. That is a manicure and pedicure. When I was done, I got to pick out two nail polish colors, and I got exfoliating scrub for my hands and feet. I loved it.
One very cool thing that families of all ages can take part of is the deck parties. One very cool one is the sail away party. Once we leave from Port Canaveral, there is a huge deck party!! It is so much fun! All the characters come out and start dancing. I hope to see you on my next travel destination!!
