Water Theme Parks Walt Disney World® Resort
Visitors
to Orlando Florida during the summer months will experience bright sunny days
and some pretty warm temperatures. This combination of the Florida sun and
summer heat will have many searching for a refreshing and fun place to retreat
to. It is for this reason we have dedicated both of our June issues to the
Water Theme Parks found at the Walt Disney World®
Resort.
So, if you are looking for some fun in the Florida sun Disney has just the
place for you. Guests will have two distinctively different and wonderfully
themed water parks to choose from.
In our last issue we explored the wacky world of a “Sky Resort” in Florida that
suddenly found that the snow had melted and the toboggan rides had been turned
into water slides.
In this issue we will explore Walt Disney World’s other water park called
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. Here guests entering the water park
through a ramshackle tropical town to discover with nearly a dozen water
attractions to choose from.

Touring Walt Disney World®
during the Warmer Months
Simple and Practical Tips
Florida’s frequent and sudden rain showers along with its
unrelenting sun make a summer trip to the most “Magical Place on
Earth” one that may require a little extra thought and planning.
Here are a few tips that can help.
Arrive Early
This is true for any season but a must during the summer. Arrive
30-45 minutes before the stated opening time and take advantage of
the coolest portion of the day.
Hurray for Mom!
Here are some plan ahead and pack ahead ideas that will have the
troops thinking you are a genius.
Water mister spray fans
Pick one up before you go at one-third the price of ones sold in the
parks
Umbrella
A small compact light colored umbrella will come handy during that
sudden rain shower or to shelter you from the sun while waiting in a
long line.
Sunscreen
Liberal applications in the morning before you head out and bring
some sunscreen wipes that come in individually wrapped packets.
Clothing
Stroller Taking a stroller? Most strollers are dark in color so consider
bringing a light colored towel or cloth to cover it with. Both the
light color and the extra shade provided will help keep junior
comfortable.
Those aren’t dogs barking
Wear a good pair of sneakers but nothing new. Make sure they a
broken in and comfortable.
Wear socks that are not 100% cotton and consider applying some
antifungal talcum powder. Bring bandages and be on the look out for
hot spots. If you feel a hot spot developing inspect your feet. Put
a bandage on if needed and a dry pair of socks.
Towel please
If your magical moment with Mickey is starting to feel more like
yard work than fun head back to your hotel for a swim and a break.
Return later when you are refreshed and ready to go at it again. If
you are staying at a Walt Disney World®
Resort this can easily be accomplished and is worth the effort.
Which way to the Hundred Acre Wood?
One possibility that allows for a nice break and chance to recharge
your batteries is to make a priority seating for a late lunch at a
full service restaurant or character meal. Pack a snack to get you
through the morning then around 1:30 to 2:00pm sit down to a
relaxing, nourishing and enjoyable experience that can be a welcomed
and much needed break from the heat, crowds and lines.
All Aboard the Walt Disney World Railroad
For another quick and refreshing break take a ride on the Walt
Disney World®Railroad and break out the some of the drinks you froze the
night before. The ice cold drink along with the breeze created by
the 15mph that these real steam driven locomotives generate will go
a long way in reminding you that you are on vacation.
Raft to Tom Sawyers Island
This is a Great place to retreat to especially when the crowds and
temperatures are at their peak. Here you will find lots of shade, as
well as refreshments at Aunt Polly’s Dockside Inn. So if your
touring plan begins to break down or you just plain need a break,
give this one a try.
In each of our newsletters we give you an opportunity to test your
