    Have an encounter with some bronze screen gods. Stroll through this glamorous plaza and check out the faces of famous TV icons from the past and present, selected by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. These TV greats, who have spent time in your living room making you laugh and cry, are now available to pose with you for your photo.
Disney Trivia: The Emmy statuette is a winged woman representing the muse of art, supporting and uplifting an atom. Its name evolved from "Immy," a term commonly used for the early image orthicon camera, to Emmy, which was considered more appropriate for a female statue.

In his lifetime, Walt Disney, along with members of his staff, received seven Emmys.

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS) was founded one month after network television was born in 1946.

  • "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" Movie Set Adventure
    No need to be zapped by Professor Szalinski's Electromagnetic Shrinking machine to get a taste of what fun life can be from a bug's perspective! Climb, crawl and explore in this larger-than-life interactive playground where anthills are mountains, LEGO bricks are hiding places and blades of grass tower like trees.
Disney Note: During summer months, this attraction has water elements that may cause Guests to get wet.
 
Disney Tip: Covered open-air snack area is located along side this attraction where parents can wait and recharge their batteries. Parents please note that this playground is not well ventilated and can be very hot during the warmer times of the day.
 
Disney Trivia: This attraction opened on December 15, 1989.

The blades of grass on the playground are 30 feet tall.
 
  • Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular
    Thrill to the pulse-pounding explosions, crashes, clashes and death-defying stunts of Indiana Jones' onscreen adventures. Sit behind the director's chair to participate in this stage spectacular that reveals some of the moviemaking magic responsible for Indy's triumphs over deadly traps, bad-guy battles and epic-scale obstacles. You may even be chosen to be an extra!

    Get ready for extreme thrills as this full-throttle, high-octane live stunt spectacular comes roaring in from Walt Disney Studios Paris as part of the Happiest Celebration On Earth. Engines rev, tires screech and adrenaline kicks into overdrive as a series of highly orchestrated stunts, specially designed cars, motorcycles and jet skis and amazing pyrotechnics give you a behind-the-scenes look at how action stunts are created for the movies.

Disney Trivia: The show is based on Moteurs & Action! Stunt Show Spectacular that debuted at Walt Disney Studios Paris in March of 2002.

The village of Villefranche-sur-Mer in the south of France served as inspiration for the sets of the stunt show.

Disney Trivia: "Beauty and the Beast" was the only animated feature film ever nominated for a Best Picture Academy Award. (1991)

This attraction premiered on November 22, 1991 -- the same day that the animated feature film "Beauty and the Beast" opened in theaters across the U.S. This was the first time that a stage show opened the same day as the movie that inspired it.

"Beauty and the Beast" was the first Disney animated feature film to become a Broadway musical. It opened at New York City's Palace Theater on April 18, 1994.

 
  • Fantasmic!
    Experience the fun, fancy and fears of everybody's favorite heroic mouse as he battles the forces that turn his vibrant dreams into a vivid nightmare. Mickey faces off against Disney villains in a lavish spectacular of dancing water, dramatic music, breathtaking animation, lasers, fireworks and surprises. The show takes you inside the dreams of Mickey Mouse when Disney villains intrude on Mickey's fantasy and turn his dreams into nightmares.  Mickey uses the power of good to triumph over the evil-doers. The enchanting performance is synchronized to the melodies of favorite Disney classics such as "Pocahontas," "Fantasia," and "The Lion King." In the grand finale, 26 Disney characters cruise across the moat aboard a replica of the "Steamboat Willie" boat.

Viewing Location:
The Hollywood Hills Amphitheater located off Sunset Boulevard across from Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. The theater is reminiscent of the Hollywood Bowl.

The Amphitheater opens 90 minutes before show time for seating and food is allowed inside. Due to the popularity of this show, Guests are encouraged to arrive at least 1 hour prior to showtime to obtain seats.

Seating from the middle to rear of the theater offers excellent views without getting too close to the splashes and heat of the show's action.
 
Disney Trivia: The 1,500-seat theater is reminiscent of the Hollywood Bowl, a famed Los Angeles cultural landmark and one of the largest natural amphitheatres in the world.

    Aerosmith's having a backstage party across town and you're invited. Ready to brave the LA freeways? Zoom from 0-60 mph with the force of a supersonic F-14, take in high-speed loops and turns synchronized to a specially recorded Aerosmith soundtrack and zip through Tinseltown in the biggest, loudest limo you've ever seen.

Aerosmith worked with Walt Disney Imagineering to create special music for the ride, which they synchronized to 3-D graphics before construction on the roller coaster was completed

A specially recorded Aerosmith soundtrack resonate out of 125 speakers in each "limo," including five per guest. Your average limo-for-hire boast a whopping six speakers.

  • The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
    Brave the creepy façade of a once-glorious hotel for a jolt back in time. Board a phantom elevator, shoot up 13 stories and brace yourself for a thrilling plummet... but beware! The experience just got scarier. You rocket back up, only to plummet down yet again. You dare to ride once more, but wait! That's not what happened before. That's right, now the Tower is in control, so it's never the same fear twice!

Disney Trivia: At 199 feet tall, "The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror" is the highest attraction at the Walt Disney World Resort. So how is it that this attraction contains only 13 'floors'? Imagineers say it's because the place is full of so many 'tall stories.'

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror plummeted with pride when it received two 2004 Disney Magazine Reader's Choice Awards: Favorite Attraction at the Walt Disney World Resort and Disney-Hollywood Studios!

To accurately capture the mood of the classic television series, Walt Disney Imagineers screened each of the 156 episodes of "The Twilight Zone" at least twice.

    Join your Playhouse Disney pals for stories that enlighten and inspire. Bop along to playful tunes and enjoy surprises and guest appearances from Bear, Tutter, Pip and Pop, plus Rolie Polie Olie, Stanley, Pooh and more of your friends from Disney Channel shows. Engaging presentation with costumed characters and puppetry entertaining the audience that is seated on a carpeted floor in front of the stage. The informal atmosphere works well with the sometimes-restless children.

Disney Tip: The nearest rest room is adjacent to Soundstage 5 at the Brown Derby Restaurant.

It's one tribute to the screen that's a real scream.

Specially created to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Walt Disney's birth, this gallery exhibit offers a trip through time, complete with audio interviews, archival footage, inventions and innovations of the visionary whose name is synonymous with magic.

This attraction's priceless collection of more than 400 pieces of memorabilia arrived via FedEx Express from California on a dedicated Airbus A300 designated Spirit of Imagination. The coast-to-coast delivery took just a few hours.

A self-educated man, Walt Disney attended just one year of high school.

Walt Disney received his first and only story screen credit in the 1965 release "Lt. Robin Crusoe" as "Retlaw Yensid" - Walter Disney spelled backwards.
