Escape
to a South Seas hideaway, with
tropical gardens, lavish luaus and
gentle waves lapping against the
sandy shores. Friendly people, fun,
laughter and good cheer reflect the
enchanting customs and culture of
the islands. Torch-lit walkways, a
cascading indoor waterfall and the
soothing sound of distant drums
beckon with the imagery of paradise
found. Aloha.
The two and three story buildings
called longhouses are scattered
throughout this tropical resort like
islands of the South Pacific from
which they are named. The 853 luxury
guest rooms continue the relaxing
island atmosphere with a laid back
design of wicker furnishings and
canopy beds. |

| Disney Tip: The Polynesian Resort and it’s guests have recently been faced with a unique problem, its close proximity to the Walt Disney World Speedway. The roar of race cars circling the track has at times been in direct conflict with the tranquil nature of this resort. Rooms with a “parking lot” view have seemed to be most affected. You may want to inquire if the speedway has any planned racing or trials during your stay. |
In
1999 Walt Disney World renamed the
eleven longhouses at the resort. In
case you would like to stay in a
particular longhouse and can only
remember the name from a previous
stay we have list the old names and
the corresponding new ones.
