The Whispering Canyon Café is situated just off the hotel’s expansive eight-story lobby and it is here that guests are told to “Come and Get it” each morning at 7:00am, when the restaurant is officially opened with the ringing of an old fashion dinner bell.

The restaurants dining room opens onto and straddles the hotel lobby, and despite the activity that was on display we still felt both comfortable and relaxed as we sat at our table.

The breakfast menu includes as wide of a variety of standard breakfast foods that you would find at other Walt Disney World restaurants with a few notable exceptions, including Kansas City Hash. This all country breakfast includes; smoked beef brisket sautéed with diced potatoes, peppers and onions topped with Tillamook cheese, spicy BBQ sauce and two eggs prepared any way you like them.

“From the Barnyard” is a list of breakfast offerings that contain the standard combination of eggs, potatoes, bacon and sausage plates that you might expect. Also, listed on the menu under the section called “The Griddle” you will find tempting items such as Cinnamon Swirl French Toast, Black Hills Waffle or Uncle Mike’s Flap Jacks.

In an effort to try and keep pace with a young growing teenager I impetuously order the Canyon Skillet along with my son. Now this all-you-care-to-eat early morning spread is loaded with breakfast favorites and served in an old fashion black iron skillet that is placed on a Lazy Susan in the middle of the table. Our server generously replaced the items we devoured quicker than you can say giddy-up, until finally it became evident even a young teenage boy and his dad could eat no more.

Some may argue that we missed some optimum theme park touring time, but at least for this Dad the time spent relaxing and enjoying a good old fashioned breakfast with his son was well spent vacation time.
