Spoodles
Located at Disney’s BoardWalk
Breakfast
I noticed that only a half a dozen or so parties were still working
on what remained of their breakfast as we followed a cast member to
one of the solid wooden tables that were arranged comfortably across
the wooden flooring. Our server Karol was quick to appear and spent
a few minutes with us going over the mostly non-traditional
breakfast items that were listed on the menu. During this time Karol
pointed out a few of her favorites and also volunteered the fact
that she has been working at Spoodles since it’s opening about 10
years ago, which lent some weight to her recommendations.
Intrigued
but not entirely convinced I opted for the Spoodles Breakfast
Platter, which consisted of a more recognizable collection of
breakfast foods, that included Scrambled Eggs, Breakfast Potatoes,
French Toast, Bacon, Sausage and Breakfast Breads. My breakfast
companion who was undaunted ordered the “Italian”, which was a
combination of Two Poached Eggs on top of Rye Toast Rounds with
Italian Sausage, Tomatoes, Peppers, Onions, Parmesan Cheese, and
Diced Potatoes.
As our meal was being prepared I took the time to notice a few
interesting features of this restaurant. The open kitchen provided
an insight and a flare to the otherwise behind the scenes business
of running a restaurant. The wait staff was smartly dressed in their
unisex black pants and white shirts which displayed the Spoodles
logo. The kitchen staff was outfitted with the standard chef attire,
but was also sporting yellow and green baseball caps, that displayed
the Spoodles logo.
When Karol placed our breakfast on the table I was suddenly filled
the certainty that our last minute decision was turning out just
fine. My All-You-Care-To-Eat breakfast platter was filled with some
favorites and some surprise hits. The standout was the French Toast
that was prepared with a Thick Bread called Challah.
The “Italian” was a hit with my companion who is not a big breakfast
fan. The combination of tomatoes, peppers, onions and Parmesan
Cheese with the poached eggs that were all nestled on top of the rye
toast was both intriguing and flavorful.
