Lunch
The name should have alerted me as to what in store for us. I had
during the course of our stay wandered in and out of this counter
service restaurant, mostly in search of a cup of coffee or to
retrieve the kids from the arcade games.
As we entered this combination restaurant and electronic noise maker
I was in search of some nourishment and a little break from the
crowds we had faced that morning in the theme parks. Nothing
complicated just a satisfying noon time meal that would hold us over
until we found ourselves dining at one of the resorts fine dining
restaurants.
My hamburger and French fry combination was luke warm and tasteless,
which I found odd considering the fact that waited almost as long
for it has I had to ride Space Mountain earlier that morning. The
chicken strip basket that my son was sitting in front of was no
competition to the allure of a round of arcade games that were just
a few feet away and went mostly untouched.
The price tag for this lackluster dining experience only heightened
the disappointment.
This unpleasant experience was only further compounded by the
realization that if I had only ventured a little further I could
have enjoyed a lunch at what is possibly the best lunch time
restaurant at Walt Disney World, the Grand Floridian Café, which is
also located at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.
