Concourse Steakhouse
(replaced by
The Wave)
Located at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
Lunch
After explaining to the
security guard working the guardhouse at Disney’s Contemporary
Resort that the reason for our visit was to eat lunch at The
Concourse Steakhouse we were allowed to park our car and entered the
resort, at the ground floor lobby. We took the escalator ride to the
fourth floor concourse and quickly located the restaurant within the
cavernous open space with its mix of shops and restaurants. With
most of the guests either enjoying the Florida sun at poolside or in
the theme parks our arrival was greeted with a smile and an
immediate table.
After being seated in a comfortable booth we were presented with a
menu that offered up a wide selection of lunch items that included;
appetizers called “Starters” and entrees found under “Steakhouse
Lunch From The Grill”, as well as, sandwiches, salads and pastas
found under the “Pasta, Salads, and Sandwiches” section of the menu.
To start our lunch we selected an order of Beer-battered Onion
Rings, which were served with a side of Ranch Dressing. For my
entree I ordered the Grilled Steakhouse Burger with Cheddar Cheese
and fries. The burger although cooked well done was tasty and not
dry. Our table also saw a Caesar Salad with grilled chicken. The
presentation of this salad along with its generous portions and
freshness of the ingredients made this a satisfying lunch selection.
The dessert offerings were presented by our server who displayed
that day’s selections on a tray that he carried over to our table.
Each dessert is priced at $2.40 and was a smaller portion than might
be found at dinner. Some of the offerings included Vanilla Bean
Crème Brulee, Assorted Fresh Fruit, Terra Mozu and a Cheesecake with
Raspberry Sauce. I enjoyed the Crème Brulee a personal favorite,
while my wife and son shared the Terra Misu.
This restaurant with the monorail passing overhead and the guests
scurrying to and from the theme parks did manage to satisfy our
hungers and remind us, at least for a few moments longer that we
were still on vacation.
The easy monorail access from the Magic Kingdom theme park makes
this restaurant a fabulous choice for a comfortable lunch and a nice
break from the crowds.
