  Boma - Flavors of Africa
Located in Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge
Breakfast Buffet

After checking in with the cast member positioned at the podium we were told it would be about ten minutes before our table would be ready. I managed a quick glimpse into the large open dining area and the buffet off to one side made for an inviting site.

In less than the predicted 10 minute wait we were escorted to a table off to one side that was placed next to the large picture window that afforded a comfortable location and a rather interesting view of the resorts pool area.

Our server was quick to present himself and after taking our order of two West African Frunch drinks This house specialty is a combination of lemonade, pineapple juice, guava juice, orange juice, and papaya juice.

An end to end survey of the restaurants rather expansive buffet, that nearly stretched the length of the dining room, revealed some familiar and some not so familiar breakfast foods. At one end there was a wonderful selection of breakfast pastries and breads. Next there was a familiar collection of fresh fruits and a pleasant surprise of some dried fruits that included mango, papaya, and coconut.

For those looking to bulk up before a day in the theme parks there were pancakes, waffles, scrambled eggs and omelets that are made to order with a selection of ingredients. Breakfast meats included bacon, sausage, cured pork loin and carved breakfast ham. Some carbohydrates could be found in the form of potatoes with red and green pepper and paprika.

A stand out is a dish called Pap, that consisted of oatmeal, quinoa porridge with toppings included fruits, brown sugar and cinnamon.

Rounding out this breakfast extravaganza was a dish called Bobotie, which is a combination of corn beef, eggs, cream, potato and onion.

This family restaurant serving breakfast invites guests to enjoy some pretty good eating to be found in this vibrant African styled restaurant with a marketplace atmosphere.
