Disney's California Adventure

The entrance to this  theme park is located directly across from it's sister park Disneyland. Both parks find themselves competing for guests that are arriving into the pedestrian plaza that separates them. This plaza which called the Esplanade is where guests will disembark from the trams that shuttle guests to and from the parking garages. This is also where guests will find the tickets booths and a set of huge letters spelling out California, which serves as the  entrance. After passing through the turnstiles guests will find most of guest services including stroller rentals, lockers, ATM machines and some souvenir shops.

Catch the buzz aboard one of these bumblebee vehicles that swarm around the inside of a giant orange rising along the edge of Paradise Pier. This swinging ride is loaded with a-peel!
      • Swing in your own single-seat bee
      • This California orange is four stories tall
      • Disneyland® Resort is built on the site of orange groves in, coincidentally enough, Orange County
      • This tribute to the Golden State's production of citrus and honey even smells like oranges!

Minimum Height Requirement: 48 inches (122 cm)

Disney Tip: Watch for surprises and magical effects in the show!

Enjoy the fun show on the TV monitors that happens as you arrive.

Disney Trivia: The Orange Stinger harks back to the classic chain-suspended rotating attractions of old-time carnivals.

Oranges are one of the most popular exports of California.

    • S.S. rustworthy
Wreak havoc on this wreck of a fireboat that is now a wet, wacky and whimsical play zone for big and little firefighters. The S.S. Trustworthy has run aground and been rechristened as the S.S. rustworthy, where interactivity ensures that this boat is three-alarm fun!
      • Water cannons
      • Bell-ringing
      • Lever-pulling
      • Wheel-turning
Disney Tip: Because children love to frolic in this water play area, you might want to bring an extra set of dry clothing for them.

Disney Trivia: The story of the S.S. rustworthy is that it was originally called the "S.S. Trustworthy" before a storm cost it a letter "T."

    • Sun Wheel
Climb aboard this impressive Ferris wheel to experience two very different kinds of rides.
      • Take in the soaring views on an exhilarating trip 16 stories in the air in stationary gondolas
      • But for the real thrill-seekers among us, try the swinging AND sliding gondolas that whip back and forth as the wheel rotates
      • Do it twice for a well-rounded experience!
Disney Tip: Be aware that there are two lines and each line is for a different ride experience. There are stationary gondolas and gondolas that swing and slide.

Disney Trivia: This Ferris wheel is inspired by Coney Island's Wonder Wheel.
