The striking architectural style of Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is based on the Arts and Crafts movement of the early 1900s. The interior design evokes the towering Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite National Park, with its darkened wood paneling, oversized fireplace hearth, lofty ceilings and sweeping crossbeams. Chandeliers inspired by California woodlands glow above the vibrant yet rustic hues of the lavish lobby. This hotel is an Imagineering masterpiece replete with subtle Disney touches.
Art of the Craft Tour
Learn more about the hotel in the Art of the Craft Tour, which expounds on the Arts and Crafts movement and how the forest theme is reflected in the lobby artifacts, as well as the Storytellers Café and Napa Rose.
